Chemical Composition: MgCO3 (Mangasite) or Ca2B5SiO9(OH)5 (Howlite)

Hardness:  On Mohs scale of mineral hardness - grade 3.5-4.5 (1 being softest, 10 being hardest)

Colour:  Turquoise

Uses: Crystals are a gift of nature that have been cherished and appreciated by humankind for for millennia. There are countless ways we can incorporate crystals into our daily lives. Placed around the home, worn as jewellery or simply held in the hand they remind us of our relationship with nature and Mother Earth.

It is known that crystals, due to their atomic makeup, hold heat and focus light energy, the often used example is quartz crystals being used in watches to generate an electric charge. Beyond this, it is said that crystals and gemstones have different energies that can be used to enhance your own energetic vibrations. Each gemstone is known for its unique 'energetic' properties.

Properties:  Relaxation - renewal – visualisation - meditation

Turqurenite has the healing qualities of Magnesite with the colour vibration of Turquoise. It is a powerful relaxation crystal for meditation and it stimulates visualisation and dreaming. It can help ideas come into fruition and encourage creativity. Turqruenite aids the opening of the crown chakra and mindfulness. It aids the renewal and regeneration of cells as well as facilitating memory recovery.  It evens mood fluctuations and brings inner peace and calm and patience. It is considered to help us become aware of our ambitions and encourage us to strive to reach them.

Tip:  The turquoise colour brings additional communication properties to the crystal.

Historical Uses/Folklore: Shamans used Magnesite and turquoise for the regeneration of cells. A piece of Turqurenite, placed by the bed, is said to help with remembering and understanding dreams. Howlite is named for its discoverer, Henry How, a Canadian geologist from Nova Scotia.
