Origin:  Madagascar

Crystal Details: Polychrome Jasper was discovered in Madagascar in 2006. While looking for Ocean Jasper, deposits of Polychrome were accidentally discovered. This form of Jasper needs to be dug by hand because of the difficult terrain where it is found.

Chemical Composition: SiO2

Hardness:  On Mohs scale of mineral hardness - grade 7 (1 being softest, 10 being hardest)

Colour:  Distinct shades of reds and pinks, brown and tan, orange and yellow, white and grey and rarer tinges of blue. The bold colours are caused by inclusions of iron.
