Uses: Crystals are a gift of nature that have been cherished and appreciated by humankind for for millennia. There are countless ways we can incorporate crystals into our daily lives. Placed around the home, worn as jewellery or simply held in the hand they remind us of our relationship with nature and Mother Earth.

It is known that crystals, due to their atomic makeup, hold heat and focus light energy, the often used example is quartz crystals being used in watches to generate an electric charge. Beyond this, it is said that crystals and gemstones have different energies that can be used to enhance your own energetic vibrations. Each gemstone is known for its unique 'energetic' properties.

Properties:  Vision – balancing – grounding – insight - compassion

Ukanite balances our emotions and is a crystal of vision, opening the brow chakra.  A grounding, balancing crystal, it supports convalescence and recovery from major illness.  It has a gentle, sensitive energy that combines the nurturing and growth of the colour green, with love and compassion, symbolised by the colour pink. It is useful for children when they need help in opening up about emotional issues that they may be experiencing..

Tip:  When placed on the brow chakra, Unakite promotes visualisation and encourages psychic vision. It is one that is used as a casting crystal for scrying, and whilst reading tarot cards, casting runes, and pendulum dowsing.

Historical Uses/Folklore: Unakite was first discovered in the United States in the Unakas mountains. The patterns, durability and affordability of unakite have made it a useful stone for architecture--its most prominent use is trimming on the front steps of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. It is also known as Epidote

Chakra:  Heart (Anahata)

How to Take Care of Your Unakite Jewellery

If you are to maintain the beauty of your Unakite jewellery, you have to look after them regularly.
Here are a few tips to help you look after your jewellery:
You can use warm, soapy water to clean your Unakite. Wipe the surface with a soft cloth, as even a soft toothbrush can scratch this stone.
Avoid steam or ultrasonic cleaners as they can ruin the colours and damage the surface of Unakite.
